Mr. Rovensky was born in the town of Armavir, in the Krasnodar region, on June 16, 1969.

From 1984 to 1987 he studied accounting at Armavir mechanical and technological college, a course he completed with honors. In 1991, he graduated from the commerce department of Plekhanov Moscow Institute of National Economy with honors. From 1989 to 1990 Mr. Rovensky completed a Marketing and Financial Analysis course at the Harvard Business School. From 1990 to 1991 he worked towards a master’s degree at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Mr. Rovensky has a Doctor of Economics degree specializing in economics and national economy management.

Between 1982 and 1997, Mr. Rovensky was employed as an expert at Export Service Centrum B.V. (the Netherlands). From 1992 to 1997, he worked as a teacher, then as a senior teacher and lecturer at the international economic relations department of Plekhanov Academy of Economics. In 1991-1992 he held the post of Assistant to the Rector of Plekhanov Academy of Economics, and in 1992, was promoted to head of the International Cooperation Office (Vice Rector) and Director of the International Department of Plekhanov Academy of Economics, positions he occupied until 1997. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Rovensky was employed as a business education expert for the National Personnel Training Fund, IBRD. From 1997 to 2000, he worked for the Institute of Engineering and Economic Research as Deputy Director and lecturer of the general management department. From 1997 to 1999, he held the post of First Vice President of Center-Region Group of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Since 2000, Mr. Rovensky has been professor of the business economics department of the State University of Management. From 1999 to July 2000, he held the post of Advisor to Chairman of the State Investment Corporation. From March 2000 to July 2000, Mr. Rovensky led Universe Online OJSC as General Director, and in September 2000, he took the reins of OAO RBC Information Systems, where he has been General Director ever since.
