RBC TV receives the Product of the Year 2005 award from the National Trade Association
Moscow, December 2, 2005. - This week the National Trade Association rating agency announced the winners of the 'Product of the Year' national award. Based on results of 2005, RBC TV station, owned by OAO RBC Information Systems (RTS, MICEX: RBCI), was given the highest award, the Golden Star, in a special category 'For the Creation of a Unique Media Product'.
'Product of the Year' is an independent rating of the best-selling goods, products and unique trademarks in Russia. For seven years, the rating determines the most popular consumer products in Russia confirming their high quality.
The 'Product of the Year' award is granted in the categories of food and consumer products selected on the basis of retail sales volume. Every year the National Trade Association introduces special awards to honor companies that significantly contributed to the development of their industries or achieved outstanding advances in various areas.
In 2005, RBC was given the special award 'For the Creation of a Unique Media Product', for the launch and development of RBC TV, the first and only business TV channel in Russia. The award reflects the maturing of the project and the overall recognition it has gained for the two years of operation.
